Welcome Back!

This week we will be setting reading goals and see what we need to continue to work on in order to reach our goals.
We will also be working on the following skills:
- Restate the question in our answer (in a complete sentence)
- Doubling the final consonant (words that have one consonant after the vowel) before the ending and changing y to ies
- Using the verbs is, are, was, were appropriately in conversation and in writing
- Practice going back in the text to find the answers to the questions
- Homophones
- Using Context Clues to determine meaning of unknown word
- Word Relationships- See below
L.1.5. With guidance and support from adults, demonstrate understanding of word relationships and nuances in word meanings.
A. Sort words into categories (e.g., colors, clothing) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.
B. Define words by category and by one or more key attributes (e.g., a duck is a bird that swims; a tiger is a large cat with stripes).
C.Identify real-life connections between words and their use (e.g., note places at home that are cozy).
