Word Wall Words:

uni- means one
tri- means three

Math:
  • This week we will be learning how to solve word problems and show our strategies.
  • We will also learn how to solve word problems where we add three numbers together.
  • Commutative Property (identifying that 3 +2 = 5 is the same as 2 + 3 = 5 and 3 x 2 = 6 is the same as 2 x 3 = 6).
  • Associative Property (To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second  two  numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12).
  • Identify Property for addition- The sum of any number plus zero equals the original number.
  • Identify Property for multiplication- The product of any number multiplied by 1 is the original number.
Science:
We will use what we know about plants to synergize as a team to design and construct a plant in the SMART lab that will be able to stand without human support.

Leader in Me:
We will be introducing our own plus/deltas (plus- something we do well, delta- something we want to change) as we set personal goals for the classroom.
