We continue our Friends theme this week as we read Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon, Enemy Pie, and Owen & Mzee. As we read and listen to stories, we are working on the following skills:
- Finding Treasures (looking at the pictures in stories to help us describe the setting, characters, and events)
- Describe the connection between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in the text
- Identify the similarities in and differences between two texts on the same topic
We will work on the following skills:
- Short a and short i
- Types of sentences- declarative (statements) and interrogative (questions)
- Rhyme recognition and creating rhymes

Math:
This week we will work on the following skills-
- Continued practice on non-standard measurement
- Counting to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numbers and represent a number of objects with a written numeral
- Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.

This week we will review Habits 1, 2, and 3
We have phrases to go along with our Habits:
Habit 1- Be Proactive. I'm in charge of me.
Habit 2- Begin with the end in mind. Have a plan.
Habit 3- Put first things first. Work first, then play.
Ask your child to show you the motions!
Make sure to have your child bring his/her library books on Friday!
